Terms of Service

Plain-English summary. You agree to use Readiness Coach as a parent/guardian decision-support tool, not as a medical or educational diagnostic. We provide it as-is, with a 14-day refund window. You can cancel anytime. We'll tell you before we change the rules.

1. Who can use Readiness Coach

You must be a parent, legal guardian, or caregiver of at least one K–3 child, and you must be 18 or older. You may create profiles for children under your care.

2. What we provide

Readiness Coach provides a readiness band, a skill map, a weekly home-practice plan, an AI Parent Coach, an oral-reading-fluency assessment, a reading library, school-data import tools, and tutor-report generation.

3. Not a diagnosis, not medical advice

Readiness Coach is a decision-support tool. It is not a medical, psychological, or special-education diagnostic instrument. Pass probabilities are estimates based on your child's skill profile and the state's reading-gate policy — not predictions of test results or official scores. Dyslexia signals are informational. For any clinical concern, consult a licensed professional.

4. Subscription & billing

The Free tier is free forever.
Paid tiers (Parent, Family) are billed through Stripe on the cadence you pick (monthly or annual). Renewals are automatic.
Cancel anytime from the billing portal. Your plan stays active through the end of the billing period.
14-day refund window: if Readiness Coach doesn't land for your family within 14 days of your first paid charge, email hello@readiness-coach.com for a full refund. No call required.
Equity access ($0 Parent tier) is granted to verified Title I / SNAP / WIC / free-lunch families.

5. Acceptable use

Do not upload content that isn't yours or your child's.
Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
Do not use the AI Parent Coach to request medical, psychological, or legal advice — it will decline and direct you to the right professional.
Do not share your account with other households (each family needs their own subscription).

6. Intellectual property

The curriculum, readability engine, scoring logic, and platform code are our property. The content you upload (school reports, notes) remains yours; you grant us a license to process it for the purpose of providing the service.

7. Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided as-is, without warranty. We work hard to make it accurate and reliable, but we cannot guarantee any specific outcome. Use of the service is at your discretion.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior.

9. Indemnification

You agree to hold Readiness Coach harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your violation of these terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

11. Changes to these terms

We will email you at least 30 days before any material changes take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
